The Association of Independent Regional Press Publishers of Ukraine (AIRPPU) has opened applications for technical assistance in the form of used laptops provided by international partners.
Under the initiative, 70 laptops will be distributed to support regional newsrooms. Each newsroom can apply for between one and five devices. The laptops will be provided in working condition but without pre-installed software, meaning recipients will need to set them up and install the necessary programs themselves.
“In frontline areas, without equipment, there is no news. Our task is to prevent that. Efforts like this demonstrate how international solidarity directly affects the ability of Ukrainian newsrooms to keep working every day,” said Oksana Brovko, CEO of the Association of Independent Regional Press Publishers of Ukraine.
The initiative is part of AIRPPU’s partnership with international organizations, including Henneo, Fundación Ibercaja, and Hiberus, providing Ukrainian regional newsrooms with the technical support needed to operate continuously during the war.

“From Henneo Group, we would like to express our strongest support and admiration for Ukrainian journalists. Their commitment to truth and freedom of the press is exemplary. In times of war, access to accurate and reliable information is not only a right — it can save lives and protect citizens from disinformation and propaganda,” said Paloma de Yarza, President of Heraldo de Aragón.
“Through hiberus, the technology division of Henneo Group, our goal is to ensure that these journalists have the tools and security they need to continue their work. Their role is a fundamental pillar of democracy and essential to society. We deeply appreciate their courage and reaffirm our commitment to supporting them.”
Newsrooms in need of technical support can fill out the application form.
This collaboration has been made possible, in part, thanks to the international recognition of AIRPPU’s work: in 2025, the Association’s CEO, Oksana Brovko, received a special distinction from the 20minutos Awards for her contribution to the development of independent media in Ukraine. The award was presented to her personally by Felipe VI.
