25 newsrooms, which produce 41 media outlets, received EcoFlow stations and power banks to continue their work during blackouts. Support from AIRPPU and the Ukrainian Media Fund helps journalists stay connected no matter what.
In July 2025, the Association «Independent Regional Press Publishers of Ukraine» (AIRPPU) launched a call for applications for technical assistance for newsrooms working amid war and unstable power supply. The initiative was implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Media Fund — an international fund created by media organizations from Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden to support Ukrainian regional journalism.
Practical Assistance for Working Without Electricity
The goal of the project is to provide media outlets with tools that allow them to work without electricity: in the field, during shelling, in evacuation, or simply in a dark office.
As a result, 25 newsrooms received technical assistance. In total, the following equipment was distributed:
- 22 EcoFlow Delta 2 Max stationary charging stations with a capacity of 2048 Wh (intended for long-term use in offices or newsrooms, capable of powering multiple devices simultaneously, including computers, routers, and printers),
- 20 EcoFlow River 2 Max mobile stations with a capacity of 512 Wh (lightweight, portable stations for field conditions, on-site reporting, working from a car or during evacuation),
- 1 EcoFlow River 2 Pro station with a capacity of 768 Wh (mobile, extended-capacity version, for hybrid-format newsrooms — partly office-based, partly in the field),
- 118 high-capacity power banks Proove Giant Lite 40000mAh 22.5W for journalists working on the go, and 1 mobile power bank Promat Titan-30C 30000mAh Black.
This equipment allows newsrooms to stay in touch with their communities, respond quickly to events, and maintain the stability of the information space even in critical conditions.
