Advertising revenues of regional information sites increased by 33% in 2021

The Association of Independent Regional Publishers of Ukraine conducted a traditional annual survey of regional media experts regarding the development of the advertising market in informational online and print publications.

For the first time in several years, we are observing the growth of advertising revenues in printed regional publications. If last year the forecast for 2021 was +2%, then the actual results are 6% growth in advertising revenue in the surveyed regional print publications.

For the second year in a row, we have recorded steady growth of more than 33% in advertising revenues in regional information sites.

The forecast of this indicator for 2022 is a little more restrained. The interviewed representatives of local media expect that in 2022 it will be 21%.

In regional media, the online advertising market is formed by the following segments:


Real estate

Non-food products

Food establishments


The data does not include advertising revenue from classifieds and revenue from political advertising. The obtained data are actual, non-price revenues of surveyed information sites and printed publications, taking into account all possible discounts.

The data were obtained as a result of a survey of the heads of advertising departments of regional media of Ukraine, representing central, northern, eastern, western and southern Ukraine.
