Hryvna

We build a strong European democratic community through word and support it
«After the swift occupation of Kherson, with our office and equipment seized, we were forced to suspend operations. But in June 2022, AIRPPU enabled us to relaunch our website and create unique, high-quality content. We resumed publishing our newspaper, “Grivna,” which had been a staple for almost 30 years. By November, as Kherson was liberated, we were already distributing “Grivna” — despite the city being without electricity, water, or communications. This presence was vital to our readers. AIRPPU’s support allowed us to rebuild our advertising department, embrace video production, integrate AI, and retain our team, continuing to deliver reliable news both online and in print.»

Serhii Bolotov, Editor-in-Chief, grivna.ua, Kherson

Tsentr media

Odesa life and our media are sources of useful, true, reliable information for our readers
«We managed to continue our weekly newspaper publication during the toughest years (2022–2023), thanks to the newsprint provided by AIRPPU. We not only preserved but even expanded our team, thanks to the support we received for producing quality content. We began working with video content and are actively developing the platforms where this content is published. We consistently invest in the training of our journalists and editors and benefit from mentoring support. All our staff were able to complete safety and psychological training sessions organized by AIRPPU. And most importantly, every journalist, editor, and manager knows that we are part of a big family — the Association, where we are understood and supported.»

Hennadii Chabanov, Chief Editor, odessa-life.od.ua, Odesa

Poltava media Kolo

Let’s get people back into the habit of being interested in the news
«In June 2022, when all our newsroom’s resources were exhausted, AIRPPU’s support became a critical lifeline. A grant for producing socially significant content helped us stay afloat. More than that, AIRPPU opened doors to mentorship from leading media experts, training in strategy, monetization, and AI tools, and we were able to purchase necessary equipment. We became part of a network of regional media managers from across Ukraine, where we shared common challenges, exchanged experiences, participated in training sessions and security workshops. »

Vorskla

«The AIRPPU became a true lifeline for us in the most difficult times. After a forced relocation, the “Vorskla” editorial team was left without stable funding — subscriptions and advertising vanished, and the publication faced the threat of closure. Thanks to the support we received, we managed to continue printing the newspaper, ensuring that our community members in the front-line areas could access truthful information. This not only saved our newspaper but also allowed us to remain the voice of our community, keeping people informed and united. We are deeply grateful for the support, which has been not only material but also moral — now we know we are not alone in this struggle. »

Oleksii Pasiuha, Chief Editor, “Vorskla” newspaper, Sumy region
