We, the Association of Regional Publishers of Ukraine, representing the publishers of regional newspapers and local websites, consider the actions taking place in Belarus against journalists to be unacceptable.
We call on the Lukashenko regime to immediately release detained media representatives and stop persecuting those who professionally cover events in the country.
Imprisonment of Press Club Belarus employees, oppression of the independent website tut.by, detention of the co-founder of the Telegram channel Nexta – all these actions against representatives of the media in Belarus must be stopped.
We express our full support to the independent media of Belarus.
