Despite the war, the newspaper is alive!

Not about the problem, but about ways to solve it. Not about difficulties, but about help, interaction and support

Starting from June, newspapers in Chernihiv, Kherson, Rivne, Kremenchuk, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Kozyatyn, Odesa have the opportunity to publish, because one of the most painful issues of print media has been solved – the lack of paper.

If you knew how many people, companies, and countries were involved in the process of finding support and then delivering newsprint to the Ukrainian media, you would feel this powerful force of Ukrainian support as much as I do.

From distant Norway, to friendly Poland, with the support of colleagues from all over the world, the newsprint for this newspaper went from Norske Skog, through Agora, with the support of WAN-IFRA, BO “USL”, law firm Kinstellar and thanks to the tireless work of the team organizing the process of the Association of independent regional publishers of Ukraine.

Almost 48 tons. Is it a lot or a little? I do not know. I only know that thanks to this you will be able to read newspapers in ten cities/regions of Ukraine for a whole month! And this is a source of optimistic news about our victories, sad news about losses, useful information about how to live in the conditions of war and encouraging articles about how we will rebuild everything after our victory.

This story is about mutual support, about warm relationships with colleagues, about unity and the importance of sticking together.

To victory!

Sincerely,

Oksana Brovko

Director of the Association of Independent Regional Publishers of Ukraine
